It All Began In A Cracker Barrel

Ok, not exactly an awe inspiring start unless, of course, you love down home country cookin’. The real story is that Vision Partners started because of a small nudge the Holy Spirit gave Kim Richardson.

Kim and Jarrod were meeting with some network leaders. Jarrod had recently moved into the region, and Kim had recently retired. Both had experience training pastors, planting, and leading small churches. That day Jarrod shared how he was passionate about helping churches make disciples, and in particular, walk through a process that would lead to making disciples. Kim had a passion for coaching pastors and reaching people far from God.

It wasn’t until after the conversation had ended and each person was heading to their cars that Kim stopped.

Kim felt a nudge but hadn’t said anything during the meeting. So there in the parking lot he asked what it might look like for the two to serve churches together. Jarrod, with his ability to architect processes and plans, and Kim, with his passion for pastors, discipleship, and reaching people far from God, knew this was the start of something unique. That short parking lot conversation (because it was rainy and really cold outside - which makes one wonder why they didn’t go back inside…) gave birth to Vision Partners.
